Unfortunately the European Children's Summit 2009 is over
Yesterday was the official end of the Children's Summit. The participants decorated the self-made peace tree with lots of messages they want to tell the people in Europe. This tree will remain in front of the Anne-Frank-House as a memorial of the summit.

Today in the afternoon, there was the big penal discussion in the City Hall of Karlsruhe. As Guests were invited Reinhard Bütikhofer (Green Party), Johannes Jung (Social Democrats) and Daniel Caspary (Chitsian Democrats). The participants had a lot of difficult questions.

Rap-Workshop
In the video you see the rap-workshop of the European Children’s Summit 2009. The group developed lyrics suiting to the summit. They were assisted by a professional rapper and his manager. All enjoyed the workshop and they also created a great result.

Preparation for the discussion with politicians
After the breakfast, a short Energizer and the presentation of the program of the day, the participants started the preparation for the discussion with politicians.

Participants of the 1st European Children's Summit were official welcomed
At ten o' clock the participants were officially welcomed in the city hall of Karlsruhe. The first mayor of Karlsruhe, Harald Denecken, addressed the 80 participants at the age of thirteen to seventeen. He emphasised, how proud he and the citizens of Karlsruhe were to host the first European Children's Summit.
First impressions
Today, the European Children’s Summit started. After a tour through the city at 7 p.m. the official part of the Summit began. The coordinator, Tobias Thiele, welcomed us and presented the slogan and most important rule of the summit: “Children talk – adults listen!”
