The Children Summit is prepared by Young Naturefriends Germany together with the City and Youth Council of Karlsruhe. In order to take into account the young participants wishes and interests, there will be a preparation meeting before the European Children's Summit where we will decide on the topics of the workshops, the program and the politicians who should be invited.
Who is Young Naturefriends Germany?
Young Naturefriends Germany is the self-dependant youth organisation of Naturefriends Germany. The organisation has ist roots in the labour movement. Its aim was and is to offer meaningful recreational activities for young people - whatever their social background and their finical possibilities. Ecological questions are important for Young Naturefriends. More than for nature conservation the organization is active for more sustainability and climate protection.
Every second year Young Naturefriends Germany organizes a national Children Summit for young people aged 12 to 15 years. This project gives young people the chance to discuss their demands and wishes with politicians. In 2006, the participants of the Children Summit demanded a greater exchange between young people from all over Europe. Therefore, Young Naturefriends Germany initiated the European Children Summit…
